Common Use Cases

Home Use
You have your favorite family moments on tape (miniDV, VHS, Video/Hi 8, Digital8) or in a video file (AVI, MPEG, etc.) and you want them stored on CD, print them or put them to Internet.

Digital Imaging and Picture Management

You can convert and adjust pictures taken from digital photo cameras or web cams. The output format can be a web gallery, a flash presentation. You can even e-mail photos taken with your digital camera or camcorder, optimize them for internet transfer (e.g. by reducing the file size) and send them to your friends by e-mail. You just shot a rare low-res video with your digital camera (feature supported on almost all digital cameras those days) and you would like to have some screenshots for print or web.

DVD and (S)-VCD authoring
You have just made your DVD or (S)-VCD and you would like to create the navigation menu and/or add a web gallery with photo highlights. Create small animated loop sequences (as movies) for the DVD menu from the source.

This fantastic program has ended my frustration with extracting frames from videos. Very well thought out, simple interface, extremely easy to operate - a top-notch product! Now I can record movies with my digital camera and extract the best snapshots, instead of just hoping to capture them in fast-shooting photo mode... Absolutely recommended!!!

I have taken numerous mpegs with my Sony camera and in the action movies getting that "still" shot your software can provide is great to capture that true "Kodak moment". I have emailed my family and friends the results of your software

I was delighted to find your video capture program earlier this week. It is very professional and easy to use. I've looked at several programs, but until now I haven't found a program as easy to use as the ..... Your program is not just as easy - it is better. Two features which I particularly like are the speed at which frames can be grabbed without interruption and the resolution 756 x 512 that it will capture at.

My purpose is to use it in an academic setting as a helping tool in dealing with my scientific video processing. Since my task is very simple, I'm looking for an easy and efficient program to deal with.

I am a fourth year university student from Auckland, New Zealand. I have been helping out my church with it’s website, and at times it is required to capture still frames from videos so that we can use them on the website or in printed material that we hand out at each service. I also use it with my home videos to capture some timeless still photos from video tapes. It has been easier to email them this way! So far I’ve had an awesome time with Video2Photo. It is so incredibly easy to use. I also like the fact that it can source images from almost anywhere that I want to source them from. Form my video capture card, from mpeg movies already on my hard drive etc. Thanks for developing one of my favorite pieces of software!
