Selecting The Desired Snapshots

This step is the central step of the application. Here the user has the possibility to make snapshots or selections and add them into selection list. This is the most important step of the application. In this screen the chosen snapshots need to be selected. Just choose the frame by using the slide bar or the control buttons and add them to the selection list. When running live video (e.g. from Camera or Live Video Files) the slide bar is not accessible, therefore the snapshots will be taken on user action or from a buffer which collects frames before and after the user action. The selection screen is composed from four main parts:

• The Visualization Area

• The Selection List (Selection Tree)

• The Control Toolbar

The Visualization Area

This area presents the content of the currently selected Media Source. If the Onion Skin feature is enabled over the visualization area will be presented the current selected frame with an adjustable transparency (ghosting). Additionally a Marker editor will be enabled so that the user can mark some points over the video (e.g. as helpers for a trajectory in a motion skin animation).

Selection List

The Selection List, also know as Selection Tree, keeps all selected snapshots or sequences of snapshots. In the Indexed Media Source Mode the selection list consists of indexes on the sources file. In this mode the selection items ca be single snapshots or sequences of consecutive snapshots. Each selection item has a name which is assigned automatically by the application when taking the snapshot. This name can be changed if needed and will be used when saving the file on disk or even as a picture title in the Web Gallery.

Control Toolbar

The Control Toolbar presents all functions required for selecting snapshots. The control bar consists of following sections:

• Step Control - For stepping the Media Source

• Selections Control - For taking Snapshots

• Playback Control - For controlling the Media Source

• Other Controls - For miscellaneous commands
