Deinterlacing Snapshots From miniDV Camcorders

Video files (mainly coming from digital cameras, capture cards and TV tuners) are interlaced. Taking snapshots from such video sources will result in pictures having interlacing artifacts (so called "mouse teethes").

Video2Photo solves this problem using three methods.

  • Antialias (Blending)

  • Line Doubling

  • Half Sizing

The Antialias method can be achieved by using Deinterlace/Antialias filter. The second two methods can be achieved by using Simple Deinterlace filter.

The following example will show the result of deinterlacing a snapshot taken from a DV AVI movie taken with a miniDV digital camera and using the Deinterlace/Antialias Filter:
